Trexprene®

Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPV)

Soft-touch, rubber-like performance with thermoplastic processability

Overview

Versatile Thermoplastic Elastomer for Soft-Touch Applications

Trexprene® is a family of thermoplastic elastomer compounds that combine the soft, flexible feel of conventional rubber with the processing efficiency of thermoplastics. Unlike thermoset rubber, Trexprene® does not require vulcanization — it can be injection molded, extruded, and recycled using standard thermoplastic equipment.

With a broad hardness range and excellent overmolding capability onto polypropylene and other olefins, Trexprene® is a go-to material for soft-touch grips, seals, gaskets, and multi-material consumer and medical parts where comfort, grip, and durability matter.

Thermoplastic elastomer processing

Key Features

Outstanding performance characteristics that set Trexprene® apart.

Rubber-Like Flexibility

Delivers soft, elastomeric feel and high elongation comparable to traditional thermoset rubber, without the need for vulcanization.

Easy Thermoplastic Processing

Processes on standard injection molding and extrusion equipment — fast cycle times and fully recyclable regrind.

Excellent Overmolding

Bonds readily to polypropylene and other olefin substrates for soft-touch grips and multi-material parts.

Wide Hardness Range

Available across a broad Shore hardness range to meet precise feel and performance requirements.

Good Chemical & Weather Resistance

Holds up well against water, many cleaners, and outdoor exposure for durable end-use performance.

Safe & Non-Toxic

Suitable for consumer, medical, and food-contact applications with compliant formulations available.
